The 2nd Lakino Film Festival begins with the award-winning Peruvian film THE MUTE. Second film from the brothers Daniel and Diego Vega. Internationally known in 2010 with his debut OCTOBER, which competed in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes. The doors of the Volksbühne theater will be already open that day from 17h to enjoy the „Latin American Market“ as part of the inaugural party of Lakino. Different sectors of the Latin culture in Berlin will all get together for the event: bookstores, art galleries, jewelers, food, etc. Admission to the fair is free.

From October 5 to the 12, LAKINO will present roughly 30 movies will be presented in the „Official Competition“ and „Panorama“. There will also be a section of lectures on Latin American politics and current affairs; an art exhibition under the theme „Borders and Bridges“. And again LakinoKids and of course Lakino Parties!
